The survey of telephone corporations

Everyone must know that a minute consists of sixty seconds. But lately one of the IDT corporations declared that a lot of companies, that provide calling cards, give only 36 seconds instead of 60. IDT in legal procedures against a number of their competitors said that it is hard to contend on a level playing field if a minute is not a minute. Last year IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) commenced a lawsuit against some companies-providers of prepaid phone cards alleging false advertising and deceptive trade operations.

That is hard to realize, but several dishonest card developers deliver just about 60% of time, which were prepaid for. In November 2007 Total Call International, Inc. and IDT/UTA have obtain a full settlement of the lawsuit delivered by IDT Telecom, Inc. and Union Telecard Alliance, LLC versus Total Call. Before that IDT/UTA started legal procedure against the group of defendants for three times. Epana Networks, Inc., Dollar Phone Corp. and connected companies, and Locus Telecommunications, Inc are also attracted into the trial. IDT/UTA's lawsuit versus the remaining defendants is still persisting in federal court in Newark, New Jersey. Recently, one of softswitch providers made public his advanced terms of paying the telephone services. Thereafter any user can singly set the duration of the minute, to avoid payment for the time he doesn't use. Furthermore, they explained that it is standard on every prepaid calling cards systems. I couldn't realize that it was true. But today when I saw IDT press releases, I understand that they were probably right.

If you can simply calculate, that you can estimate how many units you will have on your balance buying an international phone card. The proportion is 100 units by just $1! You need to choose properly the cards to be assured you're getting what you pay for. The good news is that the corporations mentioned above agreed to get back 100 percent of the units promised to users. IDT/UTA thinks that if all the defendants agree with introduction of new rules, that will be good for them, as the arm of law would judge them more gently. To set up the level of paying field all the companies, that provide the telephone facilities have to promote the best practices and standards. They consented to evolve rules and systems for testing the exactness of disclosures and denials made in connection with prepaid calling cards. Most of companies came to terms that every of them has to do its best to resolve that problem as soon as possible.
